Fall Rice Krispie Treats

Fall is my favorite season of the year…I love pumpkin spice EVERYTHING! Speaking of…look out for a recipe later this week on pumpkin spice syrup… <3…it’s pretty much the best thing ever…for now…have pumpkin spice rice krispie treats!

Also…you may have seen in many of my recipes I’m in love with browned butter…today is no different.

Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispie Treats

 

 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla paste
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice blend
  • 2 10 oz packages of mini marshmallows
  • 8 cups of rice krispie cereal

Directions

  1. Cover a 9 x 13 pan with aluminum foil.
  2. Put butter in a pan over medium and brown it. Cook the butter until you can smell a beautiful nuttiness and the butter is browned (see first picture below).
  3. Add salt, vanilla, pumpkin spice, and 1 10 oz bag of marshmallows. After the marshamallows are soft, add the rice krispie cereal and coat the cereal the best you can.
  4. After the cereal is coated turn off the heat and add more marshamallows, not the whole bag, but enough so you can see chunks of marshmallows
  5. Pour the mixture into the 9 x 13 pan and press gently into an even layer
  6. Let it sit for an hour and it’ll be ready to cut and serve

Notes

  • Try other spices! I love playing around with flavors like this.
